Hornsby House School is supporting United World Schools, to form an exclusive relationship with Kang Daek School in Cambodia and ensure its long term sustainability.

The school is located in Stung Treng Province in North East Cambodia and accommodates a kindergarten for pre-school children, which also allows slightly older children who would normally have to stay at home to look after their younger siblings, a chance to come to school as the siblings are cared for in the kindergarten. As part of our fundraising for Kang Daek School,  the children are going to take part in a sponsored quadrathlon.

The ongoing fundraising event will cover 6159 miles, which is the distance from Hornsby House School to UWS Kang Daek in Cambodia.

The children will watch the virtual runner move along the world map as they complete their miles by either running, walking, scootering or biking. We are looking forward to working together as a school to complete the challenge. Determination, resilience and team work are skills the children will develop as we support each other to achieve this goal.

Our efforts will be hugely rewarded by the sponsorship money we raise. It is such a worthy cause, we are delighted to be able to work so closely with another school in order to sup port them and provide education for their local communities.
